Honey production

Why Bees?

Bees serve not only as pollinators but also as biological indicators of air and soil quality. By analyzing the wax produced by bees, we can gather valuable data on the presence of environmental pollutants.

The location of the apiary was carefully selected to eliminate any impact of the bees on airport operations – and vice versa.

The June 2025 harvest reflects the biodiversity surrounding our airport: rapeseed, apple, raspberry, plum, blueberry, and dogwood. The honey has a delicate flavor and a light yellow color.

There are four beehives located on the airport grounds—each inhabited by approximately 60,000 bees and one queen.

Their range of activity is about 3 to 5 km from the hive, although they prefer the immediate surroundings to minimize energy expenditure. The airport area provides ideal conditions for them: fruit trees, hawthorns, dandelions—all of which offer attractive forage.

Our honey is tested and certified, allowing us to assess its quality and safety for consumption, which is standard practice for every sale of bee products.
