New connection to Pescara
From Wrocław to Italy’s Abruzzo! A new connection at Wrocław Airport!
Charming sandy beaches on the Adriatic, trekking trails in the Apennines, spectacular cuisine and excellent access to other Italian regions await tourists visiting Abruzzo. Travelers from Wrocław Airport will soon experience the uniqueness of this region, thanks to a new connection to Pescara, launching on June 1.
Pescara is the largest city in Abruzzo region. The city is renowned for its seafood, lamb skewers known as arrosticini, and local wines such as Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano.
“Polish tourists love Italy. The culture, climate, and cuisine attract thousands of passengers, as reflected in the statistics. Last year, the Apennine Peninsula was the second most popular destination for Wrocław Airport passengers, right after the United Kingdom. In Abruzzo, both fans of blissful relaxation and those who prefer an active holiday will find their perfect getaway. That’s why this new connection between Lower Silesia’s capital and a less popular Italian region is so exciting,” said Karol Przywara, CEO of Wrocław Airport.
While in Pescara, visitors should not miss the city’s iconic landmark: Ponte del Mare, a sail-shaped bridge connecting both sides of the city. Another must-see is the Abruzzo Ethnographic Museum, housed in the city’s former fortress. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the Pineta Dannunziana Nature Reserve, a 53-hectare sanctuary of flora and fauna near Pescara.
The region boasts three national parks: Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, Majella National Park, and Abruzzo, Lazio, and Molise National Park, making it an ideal destination for hiking enthusiasts.
Abruzzo also features charming medieval towns such as Sulmona, known for its stunning architecture and tradition of making confetti. The region is dotted with numerous castles, churches, and abbeys, reflecting its rich history.
The new Wrocław-to-Pescara connection will be inaugurated on June 1, with flights operating twice a week – on Fridays and Sundays.
