Wrocław Airport has joined the international Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative
Wrocław Airport has joined the international Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative – also known as the “Hidden Disabilities Sunflower” program. It is a global campaign supporting people with non-visible conditions and disabilities that may affect their travel but are not immediately apparent to others.
What does this mean for passengers?
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program uses a distinctive sunflower symbol on a green background as a discreet signal to airport staff that a person:
- may need more time to go through airport procedures,
- may require more patience and calmer communication,
- may experience difficulties related, for example, to noise, crowds, or spatial orientation.
The symbol allows these needs to be communicated discreetly, without the need to explain personal circumstances in detail, while respecting privacy.
How to use the program at Wrocław Airport?
- Free sunflower lanyards are available at the Information Desk.
- Passengers who wish to take part in the program can wear the sunflower symbol on a lanyard, badge, or other form of identification.
- Participation in the program is voluntary – the symbol can be worn throughout the journey or only at selected times.
- There is no requirement to present documents or justify the need for support.
Important information for passengers
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program:
- does not grant access to priority services, Fast Track security, or expedited check-in,
- aims to increase understanding, empathy, and flexibility in passenger service.
If you require specific assistance (PRM), please contact your airline or the airport in advance to ensure appropriate support can be arranged.
