North Macedonia – new Summer 2026 route!
From Wrocław to Ohrid – the first new summer 2026 route announced!
Starting in June next year, passengers travelling from the capital of Lower Silesia will, for the first time in history, have the opportunity to fly directly to North Macedonia. This is thanks to the new Wrocław–Ohrid connection.
Ohrid is the seventh-largest city in North Macedonia, but many consider it the country’s number one destination when it comes to charm and tourist appeal. Situated on the picturesque Lake Ohrid, the town enchants visitors with its unique atmosphere, narrow cobbled streets, historic monuments, and characteristic architecture. History lovers will be captivated by its ancient churches and monasteries, such as the Church of St. Sophia, dating back to the 11th century, or the ancient amphitheatre. Those seeking contact with nature will appreciate the crystal-clear waters of one of Europe’s oldest and deepest lakes, surrounded by scenic mountains. Macedonian cuisine, a blend of Balkan, Mediterranean and Turkish flavours, is renowned for its simplicity and richness of taste.
“Although the summer of 2025 is still in full swing, together with our airline partners we are already working on next year’s offer. I am extremely pleased that our route network will include destinations never served before – such as Ohrid in North Macedonia. I hope this as yet undiscovered part of Europe will become one of the bestsellers of next year’s summer schedule,” emphasizes Karol Przywara, CEO of Wrocław Airport.
When planning a trip to Ohrid, it is also worth exploring other attractions of North Macedonia, such as Matka Canyon, the Šar Mountains, Mavrovo National Park, or the country’s capital – Skopje.
The Wrocław–Ohrid connection will be operated by Wizz Air twice a week – on Wednesdays and Sundays. The inaugural flight is scheduled for 7 June 2026.
