From December we will fly with Wizz Air to Bilbao

From 19 December 2026, passengers will be able to fly directly from Wrocław to Bilbao, one of the most fascinating cities in northern Spain and the capital of the Basque Country. Flights will operate twice a week during the winter season, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and three times a week in next year’s summer season, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

“Bilbao is the first connection from Wrocław to northern Spain and a very exciting addition to our route network. It is a destination that is ideal both for a city break and for a longer journey around the Basque Country. We are delighted that, together with Wizz Air, we can offer passengers another direct connection to an attractive region of Europe,” says Karol Przywara, CEO of Wrocław Airport.

Once there, visitors should make time to see, among others, the famous Guggenheim Museum, the historic city centre of Casco Viejo, the Cathedral of St James, the Church of San Antón and the Vizcaya Bridge, which reflects the region’s industrial heritage. Bilbao has preserved its medieval urban layout dating back to the 14th century and, thanks to its location at the mouth of the Nervión River, also offers quick access to the coast — the Bay of Biscay can be reached in around 30 minutes. Basque cuisine delights with its simplicity, distinctive flavours and exceptional respect for local products — from fresh fish and seafood to aromatic pintxos. It is a culinary journey that allows visitors to discover one of Europe’s most distinctive regions through taste, tradition and hospitality.

The new Wizz Air route is another option for passengers from Wrocław who are looking for convenient direct flights to attractive European cities — whether for a short city break or a longer trip. Tickets are already available on the airline’s website.
