30-ties   airfield Strachowice built for German Airforce needs,
February 1945   airport taken over by the Soviet Army,
June 1945   civil aviation activities started with circular airlink Warsaw - Lódz - Poznan - Wroclaw - Katowice - Lódz - Warsaw,
spring 1946   civil airport transferred from Strachowice to Gadów Maly. Air links: Warsaw - Wroclaw - Warsaw with intermediate stop at Lódz, and Poznan - Wroclaw - Katowice (1948-1950) launched,
1952/1953   Wroclaw - Strachowice airfield enlarged and modernised (a concrete runway built),
1958   civil airport activities returned from Gadów Maly to Strachowice,
1958-1992   scheduled airlinks to Warsaw, Cracow and Rzeszów as well as seasonal ones to Gdansk, Szczecin and Koszalin operated,
June 1990   a decision to create a joint stock company Port Lotniczy Wroclaw SA taken by Municipal and Provincial Authorities,
November 1991   German firm AIRCONSULT from Airport Frankfurt/Main developed a Feasibility Study of Wroclaw Airport,
January 1992   joint stock company Port Lotniczy Wroclaw SA established,
August 1992   new Arrivals Terminal open,
December 1992   concession for economic activity at Strachowice Airport given to Port Lotniczy Wroclaw SA,
January 1993   property and employees of "Polish Airports" State Enterprise taken over by Port Lotniczy Wroclaw SA,
January 1993   Wroclaw - Frankfurt/Main - the first international airlink at Wroclaw Airport launched,
April 1993   airlink Wroclaw -Dusseldorf launched,
March 1996   another airlink Wroclaw - Frankfurt/Main launched,
May 1997   new International Departures Terminal open,
January 1998   airlink Wroclaw - Vienna launched,
March 1998   build works on a new Domestic Flights Terminal started,
April 1998   airlink Wroclaw - Copenhagen launched,
November 1998   new Domestic Flights Terminal open,
May 1999   Wroclaw Air Cargo Terminal open,
May 1999   installation of meteorological system (VAISALA) completed,
June 1999   modernised International Arrivals Hall open,
November 1999   airlink Wroclaw - Munich launched,
January 2000   new Airport Fire Station open,
November 2000   another(third) apron completed,
February 2001   new Air Traffic Control Tower open,
February 2001   duty free zone in the International Departures Hall open,
April 2004   from April 2004 to October 2004 a route Wroclaw - Paris was operated,
November 2004   a new Wroclaw - London daily route starting from the 24th March 2005 was announced,
March 2005   airlink Wroclaw - London launched,
6th December 2005   Wroclaw Airport was given the name of Nicolaus Copernicus and the new part of the terminal has been opened,
December 2005   opening new connections to Dublin and Milan,
February 2006   airlinks Wrocław - Nottingham and Wrocław - Shannon launched,
March 2006   opening new connection to Dortmund.
April 2006   opening new connection to Warsaw and Gdańsk.
August 2006   opening new connection to Glasgow.
September 2006 opening new connection to Stockholm (Norwegian, flights 2 times a week, canceled in January 2007)
October 2006 opening new connections to Liverpool, Frankfurt Hahn and Milan Bergamo (Ryanair, 3,4,3 times a week respectively, flights to Bergamo canceled in June 2007, to Frankfurt Hahn canceled in October 2007)
October 2006 opening new connections to Roma Ciampino, Lonon Gatwick and Cork (Centralwings, 3,4,2 times a week respectively)
April 2007 opening additional connection to Munich (28 times a week currently),
September 2007 opening additional connection to Warsaw (LOT, 54 times a week currently)
