About the airport

Wrocław Nicolaus Copernicus Airport is located in the south-west part of Wrocław, about 10 km from the city center, near Wrocław motorway bypass, which makes it easy to reach the airport for the passengers driving from Warsaw (through Długołęka junction), from Poznań along the national road no. 5, as well as for those driving to the airport from the south, along the national road no. 8 and also for the passengers driving along A4 motorway.
From 2003 the airport records the rapid growth of passenger traffic. Within 5 years the number of passengers increased five times.The airport serves the network carriers, which offer flights to the huge hubs in Europe, low cost carriers like Ryanair and Wizz Air and also charter airlines rent by tour companies as a part of a package deal which includes accommodation, rentals, and other activities for an entire vacation. From March 2010 Wizz Air has its operational base at the airport. In March 2012 also Ryanair will open here its base, which will be first in Poland for the carrier. At the beginning of 2012 a new passenger terminal will be opened.  Then the capacity will be over 3 mln passengers per year and in further future even 7 mln.
