Almost 15% increase in May

In May 2015 the airport handled 200 442  passengers and it resulted in 17,7% increase in total traffic comparing to the year-ago month. Charter traffic performance in May was 37,4% higher than in the previous year. Moreover, the airport recorded a 20,3% increase in the number of handled passengers in domestic traffic, 13,5% increase in low-cost traffic and 5,9% increase in the number of passengers travelling with international network carriers.

Ryanair’s aircraft maintenance facility at Wroclaw

Ryanair announced it would open its first Polish aircraft maintenance base at Wroclaw Airport. WAMS (Wroclaw Aircraft Maintenance Services) is a dedicated heavy maintenance provider for Ryanair, carrying out maintenance on Ryanair’s fleet of Boeing 737-800  aircraft. Maintenance will be carried out in a 2 bay modern purpose built hangar facility. The investment is worth about €6m. Consequently up to 150 high-tech jobs will be created. WAMS will open in March 2016.

From Wroclaw to Tenerife with the low-cost airline

It will be the first low-cost connection from Wroclaw to the Canary Islands. It will be launched in the winter season by Ryanair. The Irish airline for years is strongly associated with the Wroclaw Airport, which is developing with successfully its route network.

Ryanair will start courses to Tenerife on 4 November and they will be implemented once a week, on Wednesday.
